Kirby's Adventure or depending on your age, 'Nightmare in Dreamland', was Kirby's
first console game (his first handheld being Kirby's Dreamland). Unlike Kirby's Dreamland which was just 'Suck and shoot'
type of combat style, Kirby could also absorb enemies, and use their powers to defeat other enemies. This gameplay
style stuck very easily.
The plot for this game was that King DeeDeeDee had stolen the Star Rod from the
fountain of dreams. All chaos ensues, and as usual, Kirby is to rescue Dreamland. You'll see many familiar a face
from the previous Kirby game, as well as some of the same bosses: Whispy Woods and Kracko. The graphics are very nice,
very playful quality that gives a very light aire about the game. The music was very fitting, and generally I enjoyed
it. There are several minigames, as well as a 'Hardmode' in which you must defeat the game with 3 life bars instead
of 6, and you can not save (so its a one-shot deal), and a Boss Endurance.
Nightmare in Dreamland came out in 2002, and gave the original a face lift.
Graphics were touched up, and a lot more vivid, giving life to the outdated graphics. All the mini games were changed
(which isn't so bad, but I liked the originals better) in order to fit the multiplayer options. There is also a minigame
selection, as well as a hard mode (which you can save in, unlike the original) and another game mode in which you play as
Meta Knight, and a Boss Endurance. The most different feature in this game, however, is the multiplayer hookup, in which
four players can play the game together, which I might add is fun as long as your friends aren't mentally retarded.
Sadly, most that have played the game with me fall under that category.
