Kirby's Dreamland is Kirby's first debut on any system, and consequently one of
his most primitive adventures. Unlike his future games, he lacks any ability at all to 'Copy' enemy abilities, and instead
relies on shooting his enemies as projectiles to keep him alive. Sadly the game has no save feature and is somewhat
short (which is good considering it has no save feature). It also has a hard feature in which some enemies can gouge
your health bar for 2 or even 3 life points as well as littering enemies with extremely cheap tactics all over the place.
The plot is this: King DeeDeeDee stole all the food in Dreamland, and you have to
go and get it back, because you're a hungry little grubbing Kirby, and, by God, you need your veggies. The Music was
actually pretty nice considering it was on the Gameboy, but then almost all classic Gameboy games had great music. Gameplay
is pretty smooth, there are a couple powerups that allow you to scream into microphones (somewhat like Mike from Adventure
and later games), and another which lets you shoot one bomb, and another which turns you invincible, and another which lets
you shoot air like a cannon, and finally one that allows you to do the former while flying. Fun!
