Kirby's Dreamland 2 was the third installment into the Kirby series. It involved
Kirby and, this time, 3 of his friends. He has the ability to copy enemy attacks, but doesn't have the range that Kirby's
Adventure did. However, you have the ability to 'mount' either a Hamster, an Owl or a Fish and explore with them.
They also have their own unique spin on Kirby's copied ability. Kirby, this time, must collect Rainbow Drops (although
they look like bread) from each level. One is hidden within one of the many stages in a single level, and its your job
to find it and open the door to it, usually requiring some sort of special ability. After you get the Rainbow Drops,
you can really defeat the game.
I enjoyed the music in this game, especially Coo the Owl's theme. It followed
Kirby's Adventure more than it did the original, and also setting up the stage for a Kirby's Dreamland 3. The levels
were a tad too easy with your loyal mounts, and getting lives proves to be quite easy. However, getting the Rainbow
Drops is a headache, and the ending boss will prove to waste 10 to 20 lives the first time you fight him without fail.
The ending boss is probably one of the most rediculously hard bosses I've seen yet in a Kirby Game. On a side note,
Kirby games are renown for their incredibly difficult ending bosses, giving little kids a headache and probably the leading
cause for broken game systems everywhere.
